In August, National Mastitis Council (NMC) will open its submission site for the 2022 Technology Transfer Session (TTS), which will be held in conjunction with the NMC Annual Meeting, Feb. 1-3, in San Diego, Calif., USA. Watch your e-mail inbox for information announcing that the TTS submission website is open. Manuscripts are due Sept. 30.

Given the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on travel restrictions, NMC will allow NMC members to present their research virtually. However, all poster presenters must register for the 2022 NMC Annual Meeting – either in person or virtually. If you are able to attend the meeting in person, NMC board of directors and staff strongly encourage you to travel to San Diego. The in-person interaction and networking opportunities are priceless.

NMC Research Committee members will evaluate submitted papers during October and inform authors in early November regarding the status (accepted or rejected) of their paper(s). The review committee considers these factors when reviewing the papers:

  • Manuscript is based on accepted scientific or educational practices.
  • Subject matter aligns with NMC’s mission and goals.
  • Work reported is complete.
  • Data and statistical validity are presented.
  • Reasonable conclusions are drawn based on the data presented.
  • NMC’s policy on commercialism is not violated.
  • Manuscript is written in English.

NMC accepts four types of papers:

  • Research articles
  • General interest articles
  • Review articles
  • Case reports

Each article should contain an introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions/recommendations and references.

When authors submit papers, they must include an interpretive summary and key words. However, these are not included as part of the proceedings paper.

Please be aware that NMC strives to provide quality papers, focused on educational content, which is free of commercial influence or bias. Manuscripts and posters are not to be used as platforms for commercial sales, promotions and/or advertising. Excessive use of brand names, product names, trade names and/or trademarks is not allowed.

TTS supplements the NMC Annual Meeting program by providing additional information through posters and one-on-one interaction. Ten posters will be presented orally during the Research and Development Summaries Session on Feb. 2.

If your TTS paper is accepted, you must attend the NMC Annual Meeting – either in person or virtually – and present your paper as a poster. Authors may not be added to a paper after the Sept. 30 submission deadline. If an author (of an accepted paper) does not register for the NMC Annual Meeting by Dec. 10, the paper will not be published in the NMC Annual Meeting proceedings.
