New Prague, MN (November 5, 2026) – NMC’s Dec. 3 webinar, led by Tiago Tomazi, Merck Animal Health, addresses “Advancing clinical mastitis recovery through inflammation control.” This free, one-hour educational offering starts at 2 p.m. Central time (USA/Canada).
Clinical mastitis remains a dairy industry challenge. It impacts milk production and quality, reproductive performance and cow well-being. During this webinar, Tomazi will review the economic losses and broader consequences of clinical mastitis. Also, he will discuss how the causes and severity differ across herds. Next, Tomazi will explore the important relationship between clinical mastitis and pain, highlighting how different pathogens and the cow’s immune and inflammatory response affect both clinical outcomes and animal welfare. Finally, he will discuss how treatment decisions can influence recovery. Tomazi will give special attention to the role of an approved NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) – Flunixin Meglumine – in controlling inflammation and improving overall well-being in dairy cows. This session will offer practical insights for professionals working to advance mastitis management and dairy cow health.
