M.F. Rosa Dairy
M.F. Rosa Dairy (Rolland and Noel Rosa) includes 1,200 cows with a rolling herd average of 27,682 pounds of milk and a somatic cell count that hovers near 100,000. To produce quality milk, the dairy uses sand-bedded freestalls and harrows open lots daily. The dairy uses several energy-saving technologies, including solar, variable drive pumps and LED lighting. Water-saving practices include recycling and using water four times (milk cooling, cow washing, lane flushing and irrigation). The dairy processes its own milk. Watch for details regarding the second farm tour stop.
